The 5 Best Bars in Seattle for Pregaming A Hawks Game: Simply Seattle

Not all bars in Seattle are created equal, especially when we’re talking about a good place to pregame a Seattle Seahawks game. You want somewhere with good brews, big TVs, and loads of that 12th Man spirit! Here are five of our favorites in Seattle.

Hawks Nest

What better place to pregame the main game than just a lateral away from the 50-yard-line? The Hawks Nest  is literally across the street from the Seattle Seahawks’ own Century Link Field. Understandably, it’s usually standing room only on game day, but that doesn’t impact the service at this Hawks haunt. With a full bar and wide tap selection with plenty of locally offerings, Hawks Nest is a great place to get rowdy with the crowd before kickoff. Their menu is great too! Pro tip: try a burger.

Sluggers

Sluggers is another Stadium District classic bar in Seattle. As the name might indicate, Sluggers is a baseball-oriented bar, but you’ll find it packed to the rafters on any Seattle sports gameday, including Seahawks games. The long, narrow space has a funky, old-Seattle feel and it’s walls are covered top-to-bottom in sports memorabilia and large flat screens. If you believe in the “Seattle Freeze,” the warm and friendly staff Sluggers will thaw that notion right out of you! From gargantuan frosty 24-oz. domestics, to more local micros than you could drink, to ice cold Crown Royal shots, Sluggers has your pregaming drink needs covered. Soak up some of the suds with their considerable menu of pub fare. You’ll see plates of tater tots flying out of the kitchen and we love the corn dog bites!

Ballard Loft

Not everyone can get so close to the action; Seattle’s a big city and traffic is no joke on gameday. Farther north and west of the Northwest’s favorite football stadium, in what was once an unincorporated fishing village, Ballard Loft is a reliable favorite for Ballard-area residents. Its modern, updated design recalls the area’s industrial root and makes for a particularly attractive place to pregame. Though there is a dedicated 21-and-over sports bar area, Ballard Loft gets bonus points for being family friendly. All season long NFL Sundays mean you can enjoy their Game Day Menu with the classic Beast Mode Scramble. And if all that gameday excitement makes it so you can’t sit still, you can distract yourself with shuffleboard, pool and Buck Hunter.

Rookies Sports Bar and Grill

With 14 TVs, staff that love the Hawks as much as you do, patrons that don Seattle sports apparel any time of year, and a cozy design off the beaten path, Rookies is one of our favorite bars in Seattle for a solid pregame. Rookies also has some of the best food you can enjoy for your pregame. Their menu is basically a list of can’t-miss dishes at prices that won’t empty your wallet. We’re reuben-lovers and Rookies aces theirs with a mountain of stringy, tender corned beef and perfectly tangy sauerkraut and a deliciously toasted rye.

The Duchess Tavern

The Duchess is a neighborhood tavern’s neighborhood tavern and a great place for Seattle Seahawks fans both human and canine. That’s right! Even your four-legged companion is welcome to pregame in the long-standing Ravenna watering hole, open since 1934. The memorabilia on the walls might say “Huskies,” but the spirit on gameday is definitely Hawks. If you believe as firmly as we do in pizza for breakfast, do yourself a favor and split one with your gameday crew; the Duchess does a pie right!
