While Harry the Husky is UW’s adorable costumed mascot, Washington uses Alaskan Malamutes for their live mascots. The specific breed was chosen for its large size and strength relative to other husky breeds. This ‘80s-era Husky illustration is probably not a specific dog, but we think it looks just like Sundodger Denali, the seventh live mascot who served around this time.
