Announcing the first ever 12th Dog Contest
There are 32 cities with NFL teams. Every city shows their support with banners and signs and the same is true for Seattle with this one addition. There are #12 banners EVERYWHERE. Seattle shows more #12 pride than any other NFL city in the country. It's an identity Seattle has embraced, some might say an obsession! Even the New York Times picked up on this last year saying the extra "player" torments opponents and eardrums.
Simply Seattle appreciates that passion for our local team and is combining it with another one of our passions - our playful pooches. Marrying these two loves, we've introduced the first ever 12th Dog Contest. This is a great way to bring our community together and have a ton of fun in the process. Get your daily laugh by checking out our early entries.
Entering is easy. Simply donate $5 to PAWS (Progressive Animal Welfare Society). Most people recognize the acronym because PAWS has been a highly regarded animal welfare organization since 1967. After the donation, submit an image of your dog in a football theme. You can even add a funny sports name to jazz it up. Then enlist your friends to vote for your entry DAILY. That's right. An email address gets one vote per day throughout the contest (09/01/2015 through 12/18/2015). Any age and anyone can enter and vote (see rules). Perhaps two 12 year olds will gather a 100 classmates to vote daily for their 12th dog. That would garner about 5,000 votes over the course of the contest.
People have asked, "What about cats?". Simply Seattle says - Why not. We offer a playful contest. If you want to enter your cat in our 12th dog contest, be our guest. Play and get the votes for your entry and may the best "dog" win.
