The Top 5 Dog-Friendly Bars In Seattle (and where to find them)

It’s Fall again and for us at Simply Seattle, that means two things - the Seahawks are back and so is our 12th Dog Contest! We’re on the hunt for Seattle’s most devoted four-legged Seahawks fan. Here’s how it works: submit photos of your dog dressed up in Hawks gear, there’s a $12 donation to enter - all donations go to Seattle Humane Society - and you could win a dream Seahawks weekend for two! And, if you're in need of some Seahawks-themed doggie apparel, we've got you covered!

We love the 12th Dog Contest because it lets us celebrate our two favorite things in the world - Seahawks football and adorable pups - while supporting an incredibly noble cause.

It’s all things Dog right now at Simply Seattle. So, in honor of our 12th Dog Contest, we thought we’d shout out the Top Dog-Friendly Bars In Seattle!

1. Belltown Pub (Belltown/Downtown)

Belltown Pub is an awesome downtown spot where the Hawks are always on and dogs are always welcome. Pub is a bit of a misnomer here - it’s definitely a bar that serves pub-style grub, but the food here is made with such care, and it’s so incredibly delicious, that it’s hard to think of this spot as just another pub (The Old NorthWest Burger is insane). It’s so good that it’s become a popular lunch spot for downtown dog-lovers, even those that aren’t after drinks. Belltown is, without a doubt, one of the best Dog-Friendly Bars in Seattle. Make sure you check out their Happy Hour as well.

2. Norm’s Eatery and Alehouse (Fremont)

Norm’s Eatery and Alehouse in Fremont prides itself on inclusivity- from their clientele to the pets that are always welcome. On any given day, you can find families, college kids, and your everyday dog-lovers at Norm’s. Folks really seem to enjoy the simple, yet gracefully prepared American-style comfort food. Plus, there’s plenty of TV’s if you and your pooch are looking to catch the Hawks game over lunch or Happy Hour. Speaking of which, Norm’s boasts an awesome Happy Hour and 14 rotating drafts made up of local and regional ales. Norm’s is dog-friendly to the bone; their golden retriever mascot appears all over their facebook and website.

3. King’s Hardware (Ballard)

King’s Hardware is another bar that stretches the traditional definition of ‘Pub’. Like Belltown, most of King’s offerings fall within the Pub-style range - and the atmosphere is decidedly casual - yet the quality of their food & drink is so above par, that it doesn’t quite fall in the same category. Case in point: the Bloody Mary’s. You won’t find another Bloody like this at another Seattle Pub - plus, you won’t be able to enjoy it alongside your four-legged friend. King's allows dogs on the outside patio and inside - if your pooch is particularly well-behaved. There’s also awesome Happy Hour pitcher deals and Skeeball, but it can get a little bit crowded, so make sure your dog can handle crowds.

4. FlatStick Pub (Pioneer Square)

FlatStick Pub (Pioneer Square)

Flatstick Pub is a Super fun spot for both you and your dog. Flatstick is a 9-hole indoor mini-golf course that features 24 taps, all of which are Washington-based craft beers. Flatstick’s site proudly sports the motto: “The only two rules at Flatstick: Have Fun and Drink Local”, and they mean it. They’re also more-than-friendly to dogs; pups are always welcome but make sure you don’t miss “Yappy Hour” happening 6-7pm, Monday through Friday and all day Sunday, where you’ll get $1 off pints when you bring your pooch!

5. Beveridge Place Pub (West Seattle)

Beveridge Place Pub is your go to spot for excellent beer if you’re in West Seattle. They sport 36 rotating taps featuring ales, lagers, ciders and seasonal collections from all over the place. They also proudly feature 150 bottles, the most bottle offerings of any bar in all of Seattle. But if beer isn’t your thing, they also do wine, mead and sake. Here, it’s all about the beer - but your pup can come along too. Well behaved dogs are welcome if they’re leashed!

There’s two things that Seattle loves - The Seahawks and Dogs! Most of these bars allow you to easily enjoy both at the same time, but there’s no better way to celebrate Seattle’s love of dogs and Seattle’s love of the ‘Hawks than Simply Seattle’s 12th Dog Contest! Make sure to check out the competition, especially if you’re the friend of an extra-cute, extra-enthusiastic pooch that just happens to be a Seahawks fan. Remember, if you're currently on the hunt for Seahawks gear in which to dress your dog for the contest, check out Simply Seattle's Dog Gear!
